Only three JtE Level 2 Certification Programs are currently scheduled prior to JtE 3 in Egypt, June 2009.

You may choose from Southern California, Philadelphia, or Iowa.

In JtE-2, we address movement proficiency, in addition to instruction in core Dance Ethnography concepts.  We aim to study and replicate each dance zone's movement at the levels of: authentic indigenous home-style, local performers, regional government groups, national government theater-stage troupes: both Reda and Kowmeya, and within Night Club shows.  Pre-requisite JtE-1

JtE 2 includes approximately 16 hours of dance instruction and 4 hours of lecture.

This event is organized by Sahra C. Kent, Carolyn Mahfouz, and hosted at Rania's dance studio.

Program Schedule:

Friday 11:00am - 6:00pm
Saturday 10:00am - 6:00pm
Sunday 10:00am - 6:00pm

There will be a one-hour lunch break each day.  Numerous restaurants and a Starbucks are conveniently located within walking distance of the dance studio. 

Optional activities will be arranged for Friday and Saturday night for the entertainment of out-of-town dancers and anyone interested in participating.  This may include dinner at one of the many area Middle Eastern restaurants.

Rania's Global Rhythms Dance Studio is located in Orange County, Southern California and is convenient to the 405, 55, 91 and 5 freeways.  The John Wayne/Santa Ana/Orange County Airport is just a few minutes away.  The airport code is: SNA.

Hotel information will be posted soon.  Taxi service between the airport and hotel is approximately $25 each way.  Complimentary carpool to and from the studio can be arranged for dancers staying at the hotel.

This event is strictly limited to 25 participants! 

Please be advised that your payment is non-refundable, and refunds will only be issued should this event be cancelled.  Your registration may be transferred to another dancer, but it is your responsibility to find a replacement.  Thank you.

Successful completion of JtE Level 2 Certification is required if you plan on traveling with Sahra to Egypt in June 2009 for Level 3 Certification.
